Funny Story now...but it wasn't at the time!

I have liked being home because I am getting to know my nephews better. (I promise I will take pictures of each of them and post later!) Long story short...I was watching Logan (Steven and Kelly's) little boy the other night (his mom and dad were around but doing other things) and he locked himself in the car!
I had just locked Scott's keys in the trunk and was sitting up front in the car trying to figure out how to pop the trunk. I had Logan in the car because I was worried he would run into the road while I wasn't watching. He was having fun pushing buttons and "driving." I closed my car door and in the time that I was walking around to get Logan out he pushed the LOCK button in the car. I panicked because the keys were still locked in the trunk and I had no idea where the spare set of keys were located (they are still packed). I was also worried because although it wasn't the hottest part of the day, it was still VERY warm in the car. At first I wasn't going to tell anyone because I was hoping that I could try to teach him how to unlock the car...but after a short time I got worried. I had to go tell Kelly that her son was locked in the car. Kelly tried also to coach Logan on how to unlock the car. Eventually she went to get Steven and Chuck (Scott's dad) for help. Chuck found a slim jim and got the car open. Two things I learned. I am glad that Chuck is a "pack rat" because I am sure that he can figure out a solution to any crisis and secondly I should never be left in charge of children!

  1. Do you remember when I locked my keys in our car at Lake Powel and we had to walk miles through the heat to civilization for help? LOL Glad everything turned out OK!
